I've applied for the Apple card 3x in the past two months and keep getting the same denial reason:
"Your credit balance is too high relative to your credit limit"
But the thing is, my UTI is under 3% and has been for many months. The credit score they're sending me is current, but for some reason their UTI data is off.
No derogs, 774 TU. 3% UTI. 1 inq.
Opened a ticket with Apple Card support and spoke to TU, but neither were any help, as it's all an automated system.
Any ideas?
I have given up on Apple my last denial was for inquires 5 in 12 months isn't excessively high to me .

they just don't like you/your profile right now
what are your limits/balances? 3% can mean a whole bunch of different things
but yeah support is not going to be able to help you or override the denial
you can try going AZEO with one card reporting a balance greater than 0, less than 1% to absoulutely maximimse your your TU FICO 9, but other than that, just keep trying each month and hopefull you'll get in
That would make sense.
My total avail credit is $9.5k at the moment, between 3 cards (discover it, nfcu cashrewards, chase freedom flex). Looking to add more cards, but having a hard time getting approved. The discover it is 1 y/o and the other 2 are from the past 2 months.

yeah pick a real denial reason out of that last sentence
too young, too many recent cards etc.
I'd personally add a chase freedom unlimited/chase sapphire preferred or a chase amazon card before you go over 5/24 at some point in the future, give it some time maybe a few months at the very least if not 6+ months
apple card will be there when you want it, it's very likely not going anywhere any time soon
Haha, yeah that makes sense.
I wonder why AC doesn't just say it outright? Maybe they don't have the real reason coded..
Appreciate the advice on the 5/24. Will do just that!
@Salahh It's unfortunate to hear about your denial; GS has really tightened up their underwriting. People are getting approved for cards, but long gone are the days of non-stop instant approvals with massive limits.
