Requested increase for my CL of $6500 on Nov. 28.

So in chatting with a Goldman Sachs Apple Card specialist, I also asked how often could one request an increase. This was the reply from the chat:
‘.... You can always request another credit line increase evaluation. Waiting 30 days will allow your account history to reflect any recent activity.’
Granted $1000 more today, Dec. 18.
Got card in Aug; I PIF.

I would say I am surprised, but i saw writing on the walls with recent DPs a limit over 5k so looking at it more closely, etc.. I still think 7500 is still a pretty bad limit imho for my profile compared to other lenders etc.. They are very conservative on their UW when average TL > 20k and high is in the 60k+ range.
"The proportion of your credit limit you
have used and paid is not sufficient ..."
Sorry, @CreditCuriosity. I hoped you'd be the exception but I sort of expected you to get the same response I did, and your letter was the same verbage. Basically, they're looking for a LOT higher spend (percentage) than many of us are willing to put on the card. And definitely too conservative underwriting. Don't blame you at all for sock drawering ... that's my intention as well, even though I have the higher limits. I got the card for utilization padding and hoped it would offer a higher limit but growth is not on the horizon with this one.

Date Approved: 12/19/2019
SL: $2,500
Outcome: CLI approved + $500 = $3,000 now
Relevant DP's:
- Carrying balance of nearly 16% utilization on Apple Card
Congrats!
Your data further proves my theory on CLI's.
Easier to get them for most people when trying to grow sub-$6K limits.
Target utilization required - *DOUBLE-DIGIT USAGE*.
So the higher your SL, the harder it may be to grow it.
You used 800/2500 or 32% of your SCL over three months.
You had 16% utilization at time of CLI request.
Comparatively, in my case, I used only 1% ($200) of my $20K CL over 3 months. CLI Denied.
I would have had to charge about $2100 per month to get the same usage percentage.
Sorry, GS and Apple, but that's just not gonna happen on this card for me, especially since Apple Pay isn't taken everywhere and the physical card only pays 1% in rewards. While I spend that much or more, it's not all going on this one card. Maybe in time, they'll get a little more realistic but this card is just not good enough to be that much of a daily driver for most of us, at least until Apple Pay is universally-accepted, and even then it's behind many higher-paying category cards.

Congrats!
Definitely would like to hear your usage Data Points and patterns.
How frequently used?
What total amount did you spend on it over the three-month period?
Did you buy any Apple products?
Did you just use Apple Pay or did you ever use the physical card?
Let me take a stab at this. I'm guessing for a $1K increase on a $6.5K line, you probably spent between $500 and $2000 over the three months, or about $200 to $700 per month on average. How close was I?

Thank you!! yes thats what I was thinking when I was reading this thread while I was waiting if I got approved or denied for a CLI, that I should of used my Apple Card more, and I made sure to not pay it off right away like I have been doing, but was kinda dissapointed with the $500 increase, still better than nothing. My Chase Sapphire Reserve has the highest CL of $27,100 , and other cards are around $7,000 (PenFed), $5,000 (Discover), so wasnt too happy with the $2,500 SL, but maybe thats because my utilization is just too high right now, still trying to bring it down
Same here wont be using the Apple Card that much, hard to find that accepts Apple Pay for 2%, and if used physically only 1%, but I gotta admit, I get more compliemtns with the Tatanium Apple Card than with the CSR, no one say anything, only the women that hold the Apple Card say " Oh wow!? Is this an Apple Card?! so nice! " lol, I just look at them and smile, and say you can get one too, lol - Great forum here, will stick around for awhile.

So pretty darn close!
Can you tell me what color socks I will be wearing tomorrow???
Lol ... Bingo!
Thanks for the reply!
I just did the following analysis based on earlier DPs.
You got $1K on a $6.5K limit, so about 15% bump.
Okay, but not huge.
For a CLI at all, I assumed at a minimum you'd have to be putting regular spend on it (7.5% of CL = about $500).
But if you put super-heavy spend, you'd probably have gotten more than 15% increase.
So 30% of your CL over 3 months was the $2K spend for a $1K increase.
Higher usage = larger CL increases. Apparently nothing else matters much.
Now as for the socks ...
