Re: Apple Card Decline

It’s possible, but I’ve never been late on a utility payment and received the same decline reason.

I got Approved first time was denied for a bank closing my account called TU they said they have nothing on that. Went to Chexsystems froze my Chexsystems as I know this is not true because I just signed up for a Bank Account with my CU less than a year ago and got approved and they did a complete Chexsystems run.

Anyways

$4000 SL

12.99% APR

TU Score - 719

Income - $70,000

Utilization - 10%

How long did you wait after freezing Chex before reapplying?

Apple card denial

God income, decent scores > 680 reported back on decline but:

  • Too many inquiries
  • Too many recently opened account

They also listed recent negative activity which made me pull a new MyFICO tripple report and I verifed that is incorrect it's been 3.6 years since negative.

Don't need Apple card but switching to Android and figured I might want to get it before I can't get it (since I won't have an Iphone).

No big loss but confirming I am in serious need of gardening.

Re: Apple card denial

Sorry about the denial. Was it through an invite or through Apple.com? I’m not sure how the process works since it went public. How many cards have you opened recently and how many inquiries?

I had an invite and then tried again today updating income to household income still same results.

I am really OK with it.  I knew better thant to apply but with a soft pull I was OK.

Before I get yelled at know this:

  1. My last inquiry was to refinance my car from, 8% for 7 years to 3.75% for 6 saving money per month and paying loan off early.  With that inquiry at my local credit union they also issued a debt consolidation loan at 4.49% and a Visa 0% for 6 months then 9.75% so that was 3 new accoutnts right there.
  2. I am chained to garden now, I will not apply for anything new for 2 years but will request soft pull CLI's when they make sense and will do a hard pull CLI request at DCU in February 2020.
  3. I am done but I was still swapping good cards for bad ones replacing First Premier, Merrick etc with better ones.  I also refinanced car loans  a lot going from 18% to 10% to 5% then trading it in for a new loan at 8% which I refinanced to 3.75%...  All of these moves seemed to make sense and helped with immediate financial savings but catapulted me deep deep deep into the garden from now for 2 years.

AAoA 2.6 years

36 Accounts < 2 years

Time since late 3.6 years

Here is a breakdown of account age and my inquiry status and when they age off.

ChexSystems and Apple Card

Hello all,

In the past I had a checking account with Woodforest Bank ( awful decision was pissed at chase ) I closed it but, I had charges still going to that account and appearently got charged OD fees. I owe 163.00 to them as of right now. This morning I applied to Apple Card and was denied for the only reason of Chexstems report. If I pay this ( and I am going to regardless ) is there any way I can prove this to Goldman or am I just out of luck. I did not mean to do wrong by Woodforest even though they are awful awful people.

Re: ChexSystems and Apple Card

There’s no harm in trying. At least you’ll come out with a cleaner Chex report and another DP for the community. Although I’m doubtful (looking at your siggy) if they’ll overturn the decision but at least you’ll have a better chance when you re-app in the future.

Re: ChexSystems and Apple Card

I may have a neg on my Chex system with Capital One that is less than 5 years.  it wasn't mentioned as reason for denial and I do believe I froze Chex.

Double checked I do have a Chex System freeze in place or at least I have confirmation it was put on in December.

I would wait at least 30 days after paying it, check with Chexsystem that their report has been updated, and reapply again. However, be prepared for a $250-500 SL @ 23.99%APR, if approved.

Apple Card **DENIALS**

I've seen so many approvals but not denials for new Goldman Sachs Apple card.

Does anyone have Data Points on what is getting denied?
