Now I don't need another credit card. I PIF
However it is Christmas sitting here bored
I have a corp Amex and was offered to apply for a card to expand my membership (1/2 the annual fee) 125 for the 250 gold card.
I know Amex doesn't approve with IIB BK7 within 5 years.. but i said what the hell...
I logged in to my corp amex account... Unfroze Ex.... applied....Instant Denial ... SP Only. No suprise/no biggie.
What i found odd was American Express Centurion Bank offered me a CREDIT ONE Credit card.
It comes with a $95 annual fee. No Thanks.
Do they own credit one? Wonder if I did go with credit one if it would increase my chances...? Not interested in it and holding my ground tho.

I didn't realize Amex was promoting the Credit One card to applicants...
Credit One Amex cardholders reap the benefits of Amex offers, travel benefits and purchase protections, including 90 day coverage against theft and damage.
That said, Amex doesn't own Credit One.
The card is issued and managed by Credit One, pursuant to a license from American Express. Therefore, it is unlikely to improve approval chances with Amex - aside from it helping to establish payment history like any other credit card would.

It's interesting they promote that partnership as I've not seen it materialize until today.
@MyDataMyChoice - as @thornback mentioned upthread, they're simply providing an alternative route if you're interested in an AmEx network CC given you didn't meet their UW at this time.
As others have said, it's just a Credit One card that runs on the Amex payment network, not that Amex owns Credit One or being approved for a Credit One Amex would help with a Centurion Bank Amex.
AMEX has a long memory especially when you IIB. I think regarding"5' years you have a chance with a BK of your files, but if you included them you have a much longer wait.
^^^
This, don't even think about applying with Centurion Bank before 5 years as you will be wasting a hard Experian inquiry. If you included Amex in bankruptcy well then you are spinning a roulette wheel with a number greater than five.
I did not get approved for an AmEx until month 61 after my chapter 7 bankruptcy was discharged. Also they were not included in my bankruptcy because my AmEx was already closed.
