I’m bummed out, I just applied for a Barclay CC and got the “Thanks for your interest, your application is being reviewed” page.
After researching myfico to see what CB, Barclay’s pulls from (TU from what I see) I decided to try and apply for a CC through them. I got an alert from TU that an inquiry was pulled by Barclysbankde, so I know for sure it was TU that they used.
My TU fico score is 644, with 0 Collections, 8 Inquires, 6 Lates from school loans all older than 2 years, along with 18 on time car payments, 4 CC all paid on time with a total of about 61% credit usage.
This sucks,

Well, it's still being reviewed, so you haven't been denied yet. The 61% usage is rather high though and may preclude approvals. I would suggest paying that down before applying for anything else.
If it is a denial you may be able to recon and let them know you're trying to re-establish yourself. They've been known to approve people for as little as $500 on their cards with medicore TU scores. Good luck if you decide to try.

"under review" doesn't mean "you can't be serious", it means they have concerns about something, so it will be reviewed by a human instead of a computer making an instant decision.
In the Credit Card Applications forum here click on the "Backdoor Numbers" thread near the top. Look up the toll free number for Barclays Credit Analyst and call them. I've called them a couple times, always very friendly & respectful. Be prepared with good reasons for those late student loan payments and your 61% CC utilization. and a plan to pay it down. My experience is that they do like to say "Yes" if you can give good reasons why they should.
I don't think the OP was blaming Barclay's. I took it as he/she shouldn've done more research here on the forums before applying for the card. Why so harsh to OP. Most of us have been down the same path or we wouldn't be here. I also want to commend the OP on your progress. Looking at your signature, you've done some good work from just Nov of last year to today. Congratulations on your progress and don't let it get you down. Work on your utilization, let some accounts age and try again. You'll get there soon! ![]()
Hello CreditSnorlax, I can honestly say that you read my post entirely wrong, I never once blamed or pointed a finger at Barclay. I’m bummed out because I took the chance “on my own with no one to blame but myself” I should have done more recon before applying. I did call the backdoor and they stated that the reason why is because I have 4 new accounts less than 6 months old, they said keep making payments and in about 3 months I can reapply and most likely will have better luck.

Don't mean to be harsh to OP but the way I read the title and post, it seems like he's unnecessarily upset at Barclays for putting him in approval limbo.
I don't see any indication in the OP's post that he/she is upset with Barclay.
