I got the same message and initiated an online chat to provide them with "additional information." The agent asked me no questions and after a minute or two hold, I was denied. The letter that came said because of "prior negative relationship."

I received the same message when I applied for the Citi Prestige. I was approved in less than 5 minutes ( they needed to verify that I applied for this card)...
