Just wondered,....I have been pre-qualified for the Citi Double Cash card on their website, although I haven't been sent any apps by mail at all. Is it better to apply for a credit card by online app. or by phone? Does one give you better chances of being approved over the other?
It's not actually an online offer, I simply went to the website to see if my credentials qualified for the card. So basically it stated that, given my credit score and other factors, I am eligible for the card. I haven't filled out the app or anything and don't know the APR yet.

If it really is a pre approval from their website then it would give you a specific APR. If you have any questions whether it is or not, post a screenshot of the page you get and we can tell you if it is or not.
To directly answer your question there is no difference between applying online or on the telephone.

Try it again. In your first post you said you used the prequalification tool. There's only one at Citi. It gives you some form of APR, either a specific one or a range, but it's there. This is what you are looking for:
Ok, it gave me an offer at 22.99%. Guess I didn't pay enough attention last time. I don't know how to post my screeny to show it. Now my question is........What the hell? Why would my APR be 22.99% with a 758 FICO score? I have perfect credit history, pay my balance in full monthly, 1 inquiry from Oct 2014, utilization of 3%. Very disappointed. The APR would never apply to me because I pay in full every month, but still......it's the principle.
See, that's my concern. I have one credit card currently through my bank and I have an 8.15% APR. Granted, it isn't a rewards card, just a standard card. But if Citi wants to offer 22.99% to someone with flawless, and I mean flawless, credit....then likely they would only offer something like a $1000 CL , to which I would say "keep your lousy card". That is just ridiculous.
Geez, I'm really disappointed. I was really wanting to apply for that card this weekend. So, would that 22.99% ever be lowered or is that for the life of the card?
