equifax

I read on here that Equifax removes nag Acts 1 month early on the 1st of the month. I have a midland (capital one) account due to be removed on 9/2015. I contacted them yesterday to see if the account was still showing up on my file and the rep stated it was no longer there. I have yet to receive an alert by myfico/creditkarma that it has been removed. I really want to apply for a discover it card, but felt that neg account was holding me back and would lead me to get denied. Do you think I should go ahead an apply for it?

Re: equifax

I would ask Equifax to send you an updated report, and I wouldn't apply until you can see the actual report for yourself. I have found myfico alerts and updates to sometimes be delayed by 10 days (really slow, which is why I am not going to renew my subscription), and personally, you will want to see the actual report with  your own eyes to verify that everything looks good before applying.

Re: equifax

The removal of the baddie will not cause an alert. You will need to wait for another alert of some kind, or pull your report. That's the only way you will see it.

Re: equifax

I bit the bullet & was approved with a 3.5k CL. 0%APR for 12 months and 22.99% after that ^.^

Nice SL but high interest! It's okay, they do interest reductions after a while. Smiley Happy and congrats!
