Apply for PRG in January to maximize account age or wait for 50k offer?

I've been waiting for the 50k offer for a while. Since I have a SPG I'm not sure if I'll ever get it. Should I just give up on it?

Personally I'm not holding out hope. I got a prequal for Platinum in the mail for 25K points, so I don't think AmEx is targetting me very hard.. how do yours look? Also, I'm applying for two AmEx cards in January to maximize account age!

I was never targeted with the offer, but did cardmatch.com after people were talking about it. The 50k PRG offer was there so I took it and instantly approved. Have my 50k points last statement cut. Worth a shot to try there to see if it appears.

How long it takes to get the 50K points after you spend the required amount?
