Apply for Paypal or Amazon Synchrony?

I have a capital one Platinum card opened Sep 3, 2014 with a 900 CL and a Capital one Quicksilver with 6500.00 CL opened Mar 13, 2017. I just got a Discover IT with a 9500.00 CL that is now showing on my Equifax.

Fico score is 617

The only thing bad left on my credit report is the bankruptcy from 09/2012. I did not burn Synchrony, but I had a GE Capital Paypal card that was in the BK.

Are Amazon or Paypal Bankruptcy friendly?

Re: Apply for Paypal or Amazon Synchrony?

I got approved for PP/Amazon/Walmart, all by Synchrony 6-7 months after discharge.  Granted they were 300/200/400 limits.  Got Amazon up to 2000 after a couple months.  Haven't gotten PP to budge what so ever and just got Walmart to 1000 this week.

I just applied for Amazon and they said an immediate decision about your application cannot be provided as it requires further review. Says they will let me know in 30 days :-( Other posts say this may be a good sign if it says 30 days, and just means they need more information.

Makes no sense because I have a Discover card with a 9500.00 limit. lol

LOL

OP, i would try the Wal-Mart Master Card.  A least you can use it in places other than Wal-Mart.

Other good Sync cards are Gap Visa and Tj Maxx Platinum Master Card.

Op, what are you actual Ficos for the big 3. I'm not sure which FICO is 617 but that is way too low to be approved for a Chase Amazon or even a Sync imo. Even the majority of Sync store cards would be hard to get at 617. Thank you for any clarificationSmiley Happy

Makes perfect sense, that is how Discover rolls lol.

And yes unlocking your TU report will do wonders although certainly don't expect a 9500 approval with a 620 score....  Best of luck!

That's what it says on the Discover APP for my FICO.

Re: Apply for Paypal or Amazon Synchrony?

I would apply for Amazon! I applied for the Amazon Store Card last November and got declined Smiley Sad Just recently I've added 6 new credit cards and Synchrony is the only bank that I don't have a card through. I was hesitant because I have previously applied for Wal-mart and Amazon in the past. I just applied today and selected the "insurance" (don't know if that increases your odds and I can always cancel it down the road) and I was approved!

Lol +1 CreditCuriosity

Discover 9500 on a 617 TU FICO, that's Disco and super impressive, but other lenders are not Discover. I would work on the scores before trying for other prime cards. Just my opinion though some evidence to support it all around us.
