Thanks for that. I know that sometimes the CK offers have strange peculiarities. I wonder if him launching from CK increased the probability of getting approved for it. Anyways, good for your SO!

Re: Applying for AmEx Everyday but concerned about two things..

Idk how accurate they are.

I can tell you for me I was denied on Amex website when I cold applied and then approved a week or two later using the link on CK when my Approval odds changed to good. Fluke? Idk. My scores didn't change. Nothing did. Not sure how or why one worked and one didn't. I doubt it mattered but it is odd the way one worked and one didn't.

IIWY I would use the link on CK on the slim chance it actually improves your chances.

Re: Applying for AmEx Everyday but concerned about two things..

Thanks all, good info!

I also asked AmEx in chat about applying for a personal card and whether having an existing corporate card would affect the chances. Response directly from the horse's mouth was that no, it will not affect my approval chances! Good news since my company is very slow reimbursing expenses so my corp account is late sometimes (does not report, though, so I have no tradeline for it on my CR).

Chat log from Amex:

--------------------------

Me: I am interested in applying for a personal AmEx but am wondering if my company-issued corporate card can affect my application process?

CSR: I'll add notes on the account so that there will be no affect due to corporate card. I understand and that is the card issued by your company, so there will be no affect on your personal card.

--------------------------

I'll probably apply for the AmEx Everyday.. my girlfriend was approved using my income (same household) and her account CL has grown from $1k last year to $13k as of last week. Sounds good to me.

I would go ahead and app for it. If approved, you're good. If blacklisted, then chances are you will not even get a hp on your credit report, they will deny you before they even do a credit check. So looks like you have nothing to lose at this point by applying. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
