Hi all ![]()
I've got about 9 CC's with about a 65k limit for all. Highest limit is 12k for my Discover. One of my cards is the Barclays NFL card which has a balance of around $7800.00 on a 10K limit, from a BT I did with them when I first got the card around 7 months ago. My scores are all around 760 or so. Nothing negative except for a couple of 30 day lates on my mortgage from around 5-6 years ago or so.
So out of a 65k limit for all my cards, the only card that really has a balance on it is the Barclays card. Which is as I said earlier, is around $7800. I like Barclays and I'm thinking of going for another of their cards when I do an app spree here in a few weeks, but I'm just wondering how that would look to Barclays with all those cards with a basically a 0 balance on em all. Except for the lone $7800 balance, on their card. ![]()
Anyone think I have a shot on getting another of their cards?
Thanks.
In order to apply for another one of their cards, get the balance down on their current card for a decent limit should you get approved. Your utilization on that card alone is over 50%.
Thanks alot guys for the help. ![]()
How are they with BT offers? I took out that BT offer when I first got the card for around $8500. It was I think a 3% transfer fee and 0% APR for 15 months. But since then the only offers I see are for like 14% or something similarily crappy.
If the balance on that card were lower, say almost paid off, would I potentially go back to getting BT offers similar to what I had gotten when I first got the card? I would assume I would, but I'd like to make sure before I pay the balance off, because I'm secretly shuffling (and hiding) other balances on other cards before I apply for new ones. ![]()

In my experience of having a Barclays Rewards MC for coming up on 4 years and an NFL card since March, Barclays only offers 0% interest BTs when the card is new(ish). I did a 0% BT on the Rewards card, paid if off, and the only BT offers I get are at the 22.9% APR of the card, no thanks. I got the NFL card primarily for the 15 month 0% offer on the newly approved card, to pay off a 11% Prosper loan. I had the card up to 65% util, now have it paid down to 22% util. They gave me a nice $1k auto CLI, but no BT offers other than fee + card APR. Cap One is the one to use for BTs - my Quicksilver card gets 0% BT for 12-15 months w/2% fee offers regularly.
DaveInAZ thanks for the relpy. ![]()
I'm not gonna mess with getting a new Barclays then.
Curious on your experience with the QS, I just got one of those about 7 months ago and a Venture from Cap 1, and I never see any BT offers online for them or in the mail etc. The QS has a 5k limit and the Venture has a 7500 limit.
How long have you had your QS and how are you getting BT offers from them? Thanks.
Booper - I've had my QS since Oct. 2014, $10k CL. I usually get an email with BT offer followed by a mailer with checks. I currently have a $2800 BT from them, check deposited into my bank account, 0% until May 2017 (15 months). I got a Spark Select card w/$5k CL in Sept 2015, no BT offers on that as it's still 0% intro promo until May 2016.
Awesome. Thanks Dave. ![]()

I think your having a $7800 balance on a $10k card won't sit well with Barclays. Even if it was with other banks. If you have a 760 TU FICO, you'll probably get whatever you want from them, but if I were you I'd improve my chances first by getting rid of some of that NFL card balance... if I were you I'd get that balance to below $3k before applying.

Their Ring card is a great balance transfer card. Zero fee + low interest (presently 8%).
Their other cards are not good balance transfer cards.
