Applying for both NFCU plat and secured?

So right now my credit is pretty awful. Is there any harm in applying for their platinum card before applying for the secured card? Would it be a double hard inquiry?

@Anonymous  Hi and Welcome to the forum!

I would apply for the platinum, then if NOT approved, you would be offered the nRewards® Secured card.

or better yet,  call NFCU on the phone and ask if you have any pre-approvals?

ETA: It will not be a double hard inquiry. They will pull TransUnion for New cards.

CSR will tell you it will be double pull DW applied for CR was denied and applied for secured same day and used 1st pull

They will try to reuse the pull if possible. They'll only pull a second time if the new app can't attach the old pull. In my case, they were able to reuse the pull a week later.
