Re: Applying to both NFCU and PenFed, need advice

Average Joe, I used to think like that when my score was in the mid 600s but I'm glad I held it together and went with Penfed because they are super generous when your score looks good. Plus they aren't as pull crazy as Navy. And as far as apr and rewards go, Penfed had the edge!

Lol, i agree Penfed is the more conservative and im glad they have worked well for you Dyske15 Smiley Happy. As far as aprs and stuff, lol, i got along way to go before i see those low rates with the CUs but im getting there. For some odd reason im going in reverse with PF as my nextgen has gone down 2 straight times so not sure theres much left for me with PF Smiley Wink.

That being said, i agree with Gmood, AMEX is separate beast, Ex puller and usually takes some time before they report to bureaus. I guess main reason that might be good to get Navy first is if they gave you huge limit off the start and maybe PF see it and wants to compete. Left field thinking i know but. Good luck on your decision, dont think youll go wrong either way.

That's a good point I just haven't dealt with Penfed yet and didn't want to spook them with a brand new account reporting when I apply. Are they really that sensitive?
