Hello All,
I am 24 and new to credit cards. I have a 694 Credit score from my 5K student loan that I took in 2012 but only started having to pay it off 6 month past graduation which was about 7 months ago. I was debating the Chase Freedom unlimited but then saw that the bank I use redid there spectrum cash rewards card to have 3% cash back gas, 2% groceries and utilities, and 1% on everything else. Additionally you get 10% cash back bonus if you redeem your rewards into you BB&T account. So Ive switched my interest to BBT Spectrum Cash Rewards since gas and groceries is where my money goes since I commute 2 hrs round trip a day.
I am curious about my approval odds. Ive read horror stories of peoples denials and I obviously dont want to waste a hard inquiry on my credit if I'm going to be denied. Anyone know my chances?
OP - With your scores I think you have a pretty good chance, assuming that's your FICO score. And for the record I think they usually pull EQ. They did for me.
I too have this card and as the other poster said BB&T is not sensitive to new accounts or inquiries.
I just recently saw on their webstie that the card is now offering 3% on gas and 2% back on groceries. I was surprised that I didn't receive any emails/letters regarding this change. You'd think they would want to promote that info to entice people to use the card. I was using the card during the promo period but after that probably wouldn't have used it very much. Now I'll have to rethink that.
Good luck!
No complaints here. I think a few of us MF folks got approved with 3 or 4 BBT cards over a few months time.
LOL..... true!!!
They were unaware how we MF'ers (MyFico) roll. We keep each other on top of all the latest & greatest info. ![]()

From transunion and equifax since I used creditkarma. Also checked with the widget BB&T has to check scores and it was the same there.
Definitely would think so too. I had previously looked into it the card before they changed it and dismissed it since there were other cards that seemed better long term. But then was logging into my checking a few days ago and noticed it on the homepage. Just wanting to build my credit up and figured I already spend money on gas/groceries so it's a win-win haha

OP I think you would have a good approval chance especially since they are you primary bank.
