Sorry this happened and I'm sure it's upsetting. A $500 limit or a $250 limit does not sound as if it would be a Mastercard, however. Perhaps it is a Paypal line of credit.

Sounds like that to me too but the credit report shows $500. Odd.

sometimes they give you a temporary limit until you activate the card.

This happened with my fiancé a few mths back , not with Synch tho it was a Comenity SCT for VS and it was preapproved for 500 came back half of that . Was very disappointed, would not have accepted the offer had he known that .

Discover did that to me.. said i got 3K.... only got 2500$... eh.. it will grow eventually

Actually it happened on 2 cards.. I didnt really care about it much..

Chase ended up at $5400 not what was mentioned in the instaproval... 

Never thought to bring it up here...

This is normal. My mom and I both applied for this card. She had been approved with $500, but her limit online said $250 until she activated. Mine was approved for $3000 and it said only $1000 available (I think) until I activated.
