Hi everyone,
So the two cards I really want are the CSP and basically any Amex card but, of course, would prefer the BCE or the BCP. I have only two cards so far but have been gardening since last August. My AAoA is very low because I'm a foreigner (and also because I was not very wise with apps), it's only 9monts.
Chase Freedom: $4000 (14months)
Discover IT: $1750 (5months)
Scores: FICO EQ 720 (1 inquiry in past 12months), TU 737 (0 inquiries), EX ? (2 inquiries)
Annual salary: 43k
What are my chances and how should I go about this? I know I the minimum limit on the CSP is $5000, but I'm hopeful because I also have a checking and savings account with them with 30k in savings.
Any help is much appreciated! (Some might tell me to wait until my AAoA is a year old but I'm itching to apply... Also, it would be nice to use the CSP in Europe with no FTF.)

With your history wiht Chase you won't have an issue? Have you tried the Pre-qual site from chase? If you are qualified there then take that as it is 99% good otherwise just apply and you should be good as well
Amex you won't have an issue with either. They like nice a thin credit files with no baddies..
you are golden in my opinion on both! Best of luck!
Predictions are CSP approved for 8k, Amex approved for 4k.. Just predictions, gotta make it fun

+1, Go for it. Check pre-quals for both Chase and Amex but I dont think you'll have an issue with either if nothing pops up Good luck
Wow, thanks for the encouraging words! That's the issue though, that nothing comes up on their sites as preapproved. But I did get an offer for the Slate in the mail last week...
So you don't think I should apply for a charge card in the case of the Amex (just to make sure I get something)?
Also, forgot to mention that I try to keep my util *very* low, it's usually around 10% (I PIF several times every month).

I've NEVER gotten a pre-approval to come up on any site so thats not a big deal. Discover doesnt count bc the personalized offers pop up for any information. I think if you actually have a use for a charge card then go ahead but Im not a fan of choosing a card simply to get in with a lender. I pick cards that have long term benefits suitable for my needs. Had no interest in a charge card only BCE so thats what I went for In the unlikely event you arent approved recon is always an option
You are good for both.. Amex will be instant.. Chase might give you the verification thing that you have to do monday. I see absolutely no reason you wouldn't be approved for both. I would just do it.. You have very low inquires and a solid profie. You will be approved for both. I would be shocked if you weren't. No particular order is needed in applying for these cards as neither are inquiry sensitive and you basically have no inquiries
Wow as you guys said it: approved for BCE!!!!! I got the pending screen first but got an email a minute later saying I was approved.
And the CSP is pending so I expect an uphill battle with them on the phone on Monday. Or can I call over the weekend?
Thanks for the advice, everyone, I'm really happy with my first Amex!!
And the CL is $4000 with the BCE, this is a really good day it seems. Will update you with the CSP!

Sweet! Dont forget to try for 3x that limit in 61 days. You can call Chase but Im not sure if they answer over the weekend. My Freedom application was initially pending but then an hour later I got a congratulations email. Might not require a call
