Thanks again for your prompt answers. This is a great community.
You really can only know once you apply. The question for you should be if it is worth the inquiry or if it makes more sense to use that inquiry on a card that is easier to get. I would probably go for some lower hanging fruit until my accounts age. You might want to joing Credit Karma, they actually preapproved me for AMEX Everyday which shocked me. Didnt cost me an HP until I was pretty darn sure I was approved. Sounds like your new to credit, being patient will pay off.

Credit Karma receives a "finders fee" for every person that applies through their website. They do not actually underwrite or approve anyone for credit. Same with the creditcard.com cardmatch program.
Credit karma shows I have fair odds for a couple of amex cards. I agree with you though, need to be patient.
However, in case amex approves you, don't you get a hard inquiry on your report ? I thought it was if you got denied that a HP through amex won't show.

That's only for existing card holders. And CK recommendations are useless. It's paid advertising.

If you are approved then yes, it will be a HP. The only time a denial is a SP is if you are already an Amex cardholder. For example, I already have the SPG. If I applied and was denied for the BCE, it would be a SP. Here is a link to a thread similar discussing this topic.
Got my amex green card approved. Was really tempted to apply for PRG since I had the special bonus offer in pre qualify, however, after the advice I received, I concluded that I would not get approved for the PRG at this time.
So hopefully in 6 months, I will try to get the PRG. Thanks for the help guys.
They'll use the same pull....I got the green card the other day, but I got declined for the ED. I only got one pull from EX.
Im a 602EX 604TU and a 575EQ (ugh) and im wondering if you have a suggestion other than a secured card what to apply for that i might stand a chance at being approved for.
