I am a member of Pentagon Federal.
Strangely enough I show preapproved for an AmX card but I don't take that seriously since I am most likely black listed. AmX would not increase my credit availability anyway.
Thanks for your help.
Penfeds Amex card is just on the AMEX network it is not issued by American Express. Penfed would be the issuing bank. But BB&T if you are prequalified it will be an SP. NFCU is great personally I think they have better credit cards as far as rewards and rates and credit limits. I would also look into Bank of America they have a good cash back card.
I did the prequal for NFCU and was only approved for their secured nRewards card. Is the prequal accurate? Will a seven year old BK disqualify me
at NF?
In and of itself BK shouldn't disqualify from NFCU ( unless they were a creditor and you haven't paid them back in full ).
My BK7 was discharged 06/14. I joined Navy 3/27 this year, was approved for Cash Reward on April 3 - $5.6K @ 10.99%, and then for More Rewards a few days ago, $10.4K @ 15.99%.
Thanks ntx. Confused by this. I plan to call nfcu tomorrow.

Can we help with the confusion?
NFCU is like most credit unions in that they are especially snarky if you burn them in bankruptcy, but if they weren't IIB they are quite tolerant of members with a BK reporting and you are already years past the point where they're often willing to offer unsecured credit.
I did not show anything on prequal and got an approval for More Rewards at the lowest APR for 12.5k. It was my 2nd card with them.
Did not burn them so there is hope. Thanks!
