On Dec 15th I applied for both Venture and Venture One. I found out yesterday that I was approved for Venture for 15k and my Venture one was declined due to too many inquiries on my Experian report. I have a total of 9 inquiries all together on my report and 6 from this year. Is that too many?? 3 are scheduled to fall off next summer.
This morning I emailed capital One's EO to see if they will reconsider my app. I feel as if I should have been approved for both. I don't give up easily :-).

Too many inquiries depends on the credit file. They may have been uncomfortable lending you any more beyond the $15k, hence the decline. The double app doesn't always work out, but hopefully it will in your case. Fingers crossed.
I agree with you. I thought it was worth a shot. If they don't approve it, I will be absolutely fine with my one card. I guess I wanted Venture One over Venture. We will see :-).
Good outlook on this, but I have one question. Why would you want the VentureOne over the Venture? The V1 gives lower limits in general, and the rewards rate is only 1.25% vs 2% on the Venture. Unless you wanted the no-AF and 0% promo.
You're correct. No AF and intro Apr. I am very grateful for my approval. I just want to follow up with Capital One to see if they are willing to reconsider their decision. I have all of the cards that I need and plan to garden until the end of next year. I figured why not go out with one last one, if possible. I want both :-)!
I doubled app them a few days ago with way more inqs than you. Sounds like a generic excuse.
