No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I recently joined this CU through the American Consumer Council.
Applied for a Platinum CC with them. Went through the online application and at the end, it says Congratulations! You have been approved for a $2100 credit limit at 12.4%. There was a button next to it, marked "accept", which I did.
All good, right?
Maybe not.....I logged on this morning to see if my card had been mailed yet, and now the application says DECLINED.
WTH?????
Has anyone else had this happen? Does anyone else have experience with this CU? This is a first for me. I plan to recon tomorrow via phone and sent an email when I got home from work tonight asking for the application to be reconsidered and the original approval to be reinstated.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
Didn't you post this a month ago on another thread, and state that you were Denied back then?
* So if you were Denied, and then told NOT to reapply for 3-6 months, why do it again only one month later?
---> More Importantly, why pretend as if this never happened to you before and state: This is a first for me ? ? ?

Applied for Alliant CU CC a couple of days ago and received the following email:
Dear Applicant:
I am following up on the application you submitted and wanted to let you know that we were unable to approve your Visa request at this time. You will receive a letter within 7 to 10 business days regarding the denial reasons which includes the opportunity to receive a free credit report.
I had recently been approved by PenFed and DCU (love those CUs!), so I'm not sure if the denial was for too many inquiries/new accounts? They pulled EQ and I have a 735 FICO 8 with them.

Received my letter from Alliant CU basically stating that I had too many recent inquiries. I called today to see if they might be willing to start with a low limit just to get my foot in the door, but the gentleman I spoke to said that with as many new inquiries/accounts that I have, that I need to wait to 3 to 6 months and reapply, so they can see how I handle my new accounts.

! ! ! ~ Myself, Honestly is a great virtue.
I am forever telling Police Officers that: Yes, Sir, you are correct. I was Speeding, and I had NO good reason to do it. I am Sorry Officer.
Sebastian,
You are completely right. Maybe I shouldn't be putting things up so late at night! Alliant should have read Aspire CU (also out of Illinois). Not intentional and cretainly not trying to be dishonest. I will change the name of the post immediately. With Aspire, I was simply confused by the approval on screen and then the denial after and wondering if this is common practice. Alliant was a flat out denial as I had posted earluer in the month. Sorry for the confusion that I caused.
