BARCLAYS CLI 48HOURS MESSAGE?

HI guys , i requested a cli on friday on my red aviator and i received a 48 hours message decision. my TU was frozen so they pulled my experian instead where i have a 771 fico score 2 inquiries . 3 to 4 account opened last 6months and clean report . i have currently a 18000 limit on it  and spent 14000 last 2months and paid in full before asking for the increase..do you know the timeframe for the decision? i read on the forum people having a decision in few hours or the next day. i am little worried. i am just trying to understand if barclays give decision on weekend or i will have to wait on monday.

Someone check me on this, but doesn't Barclays typically pull TU?

That decision may be delayed because they cannot access your TU file.

Also, I'd take caution in that sort of thing. Some lenders will see trying to redirect them to a different bureau as a red flag and either start to soft pull you frequently or flat-out slap you with AA.

In my wallet: Local Credit Union $25,000, Northwest Bank VISA $25,000, AMEX BCP $15,000

Re: BARCLAYS CLI 48HOURS MESSAGE?

Barclays can be quite difficult.  As it happens, I asked for a CLI on my Silver AA Aviator Card on Friday over the phone; got quite a run-around, then the 3rd degree from the Credit Department.  Been a solid citzen with them for more than 4 years, typically charge 5 - 10K per month, pay the charges in-full as soon as they hit, charged $50K+ per year, even when my line was quite low and never carry a balance.   TU FICO-8 of 817 and more than adequate income....   kept me on the phone for 45 minutes, periodically asked really invasive questions, going back decades......   Finally, I had to drop the call to take an important business call, before hearing the answer.

The good news (for you), is that before hanging up, I obtained the direct number to the credit approval department in order to call them back.  Here it is, to enable you to check on your status:  866-205-5973.  You may still get have to wait a bit to be connected, but at least it will get you to the right place, in one step.  Bear in mind that President's Day is a bank holiday -- the credit dept. may or may not be open and if it is, it may be short-staffed.

As for me, after all that effort, they gave me a measly 5K CL -- from 23.5K to 28.5K.  For that, cost me a HP and 7 point drop in FICO plus an hour in total on the phone.  Hardly worth the effort and cost......

Good luck and let us know how you fared.

@practical1 I couldn't agree more! After my mini rant on anther post about Barclay having the JetBlue Plus card, I was still thinking of calling them and see if I could finagle anything close to a rention offer; however, for now from reading your post and how you've put more spend on your card to only garner the same $5K CLI I received after relenting for a HP last year - barring the fact YMMV, I may just let sleeping dogs lie for now.

@gordoncharles25 - if the CLI was approved, then you should've seen something by now. If the limit remains unchanged, then it could have been declined. Have you checked?
