Went to apply for the BB&T "trifecta"--Spectrum Cash, Spectrum Travel and Bright cards-today.
For starters, I had read here about either a SP or one HP for all three and this was my reason for applying.
Data--760+ across the board, 2EQ, 3EX and 0TU pulls in last 6 mo.
On pre-approval link, was pre-approved for all three.
First one I apped was the Spectrum Cash--approved for 8K. Here's where I'm wondering if I did something wrong--I hit the back button and the pre-approvals page was gone. I resubmitted my info on th pre-approvals page and this time there were none. I went ahead and just applied for the Bright card--another 8K approval.
At that point I figured, maybe the system was "saving" the pre-approvals, and applied for the Spectrum Travel--and got the message that I need to go into the branch to complete the application.
I'm just wondering if others that DID receive all three did it differently somehow ? Like maybe kept the page with the pre-approvals open on three different tabs or even browsers ? Or maybe it was just the limits that kicked up that response ?
Anyone with experience/advice here would be appreciated.
My other question is, I'm assuming that for at least my first app, that was a SP, but what about the second one ? Will I get dinged with an HP for that one ?
Yeah, go in to the bank and do the verification as soon as you can that should get the ball rolling.
idr anyone apping the same day for all three. Except for @UH_HUH who posted here: Also mentions some HP's and SP's.
BTW, congrats on the approvals and once you show that it was you would DID apply for all three cards it should be fine. So you may get one or two HP's out of the deal but still.....not too shabby. Be sure to carry your social security card and some other forms of ID just in case.
Let us know how it goes.
Also, @mikesonthemend had success but don't know the time frame. Hopefully he will chime in. This was from him after my first approval:
@GApeachy, Just remember, you are still prequalified for the other two cards for either 60 or 90 days. I don't remember, but I went back twice and still haven't received a HP. They did perform soft pulls after the approval but before delivery of the next two.
Thanks, GAPeachy.
I guess once the pre-approval notices dissapeared from the pre-approvals page, I wasn't sure if they were "gone", or where to properly take advantage of them.
When the second card (Bright) was approved for the same amount (8K), I assumed it was just a matter of apping for the third as well.

And at least one poster here did.
If it makes you feel any better, after my preapprovals returned I was still nervous so I called and spoke with a csr. I asked her if I was app'ing too soon behind the other one and she said if you're preapproved; you're preapproved. She was pretty blunt about it. I still questioned her again, she was like sheesh- hang up already.
So just tell them you kept getting the preapproval, which you did in order to reapply, correct? Also, I did too for about 6 days post first approval. I continued to have the preapprovals for another week after the second approval as well, just curious and kept checking; now it's gone again. IIrc, that's how a couple of the other posters did it too, like you....maybe not via hitting the back button but just filling out the form again and again. You're unique in the way in which you did it I suppose, so they are being cautious for you and themselves.
Like I said, even if you get one or two hp's out of the deal, but get to have the 3 cards it's still a sweet deal. Just be sure to go in branch sooner rather than later to clear things up.
Also, another poster was expecting the card within 7-10 days, never showed up, finally found out that the poster needed to go in branch, didn't know why, turned out to be for verification is all. Happy Ending! Update after you find out. GL!!!
Great info GAPeachy, much appreciated !!
I'm travelling out of state for several weeks---hope that doesn't mess up their "verification" of me and delay the sending of the cards ?
Thanks SFL--guess I got a bit "trigger happy", and read what I wanted to see---

Are you planning to go in branch before your trip? If not then you could risk all of the cards being stalled with that last app pending upon you're going in as requested. (not that I know, cause I don't but I'm guessing it could be the case)
