BBVA Data Points??

Trying to gather some info here....My wife just app'd the BBVA NBA AMEX and was denied for "identity issues"....  Anna Taylor USED to handle these issues but she is no longer with BBVA.  If you call 1-844-622-2282, you speak to a rude CSR that just tells you to reapply because there was info that you provided on the application that didn't match the credit bureaus.  I ran into the "identity issue" as well and Anna was able to get everything sorted out and addressed QUICKLY.  IF ANYONE can find out who to contact or who took over that position please post up or DM with info.

Re: BBVA Data Points??

Please do not take this wrong -- but I implore you to NOT let your wife go through this.  There are MANY, and I mean MANY, posts on here and CB about this issue -- and many cards get shut down months or weeks after approval -- mine included.  Opened my card at $5,000 in late October, and one day in mid November it was declined.  Callied in -- sureenough, CLOSED for identity / fraud issues.  Complete nonsense and they never could back up their story.  . Something about previous application linked to fraudulent app or some nonsense.  it is dispicable the number of complaints on CFPB and BBB for this reason agaisnt them .... I highly, highly recommend you look elsewhere.  If she is declined for this reason, likelihood is high she will face issues even post-approval.

Re: BBVA Data Points??

Not credit card related but I had a gift card from BBVA (actually 2 over 6 months) that had my name actually on it. I activated it and then tried to use it for an online purchase and it was declined. I thought it was a fluke the first time but it was declined again. I called and, of course got rerouted to Zimbabwe or wherever on earth their CS is outsourced to. They asked me what my address is. I told her and then asked them and asked what address they have. The girl would never tell me, she would just say what I said didn't match what they have. I've had the same address for 15 yrs so it concerned me that they had anything else on file. We went round and round with her refusing , adamantly, to tell me what address they had and me getting really aggravated at how ridiculous it was that she couldn't tell me that address they had on MY account. They "corrected" it and then the card worked but it was the dumbest thing. Happened again on the 2nd gift card and I went through the same cycle in trying to be able to use it. I was way more mad about it than I should have been. Something about them refusing to tell me info in file for my own freakin account really rubbed me the wrong way.

Re: BBVA Data Points??

Thanks for the info guys!! They certainly made some changes over there since I got my card last year.  HOPEFULLY it stays open, they have some strange business going on over there for sure.  At this point I think I'm just going to let this one go.
