Re: BBVA appears to require a year for CLI requests

There are some exceptions to that 'policy' since YEMV. But, in general, most customer-initiated requests are recommended after 12 months for better positioning. And, even at that mark, no guarantee on the CLI with the HP, hence why a variety of patient folks prefer the auto-CLI route for better results and if the account qualifies.

The HP will age with the others from recent activities, no? Part of the no risk, no reward logic I suppose. Plus, the CSRs are really not as well-versed on the process since all they do is submit the request.

This goes back to the very first BBVA products known here on the site, including the infamous [FOTM] BBVA NBA AmEx.

Yes the inquiry will age up with the rest of my little run on apps and since it was on TU and not EX like the other four that I took, I guess it’s not a huge deal. It’s just annoying that even NFCU won’t HP you if it hasn’t been long enough (got that letter today too). I would be fine if there were other reasons on there but it’s a bit of a slap in the face to take an HP and be denied because the rep didn’t bother to look at the account age before submitting the request. I will live though and maybe that attempt will push the system to auto me next month.

Now see I would have expected EX again as well since that's what they use for new accounts.  TU is an interesting DP as well.

FWIW they used to actually be a TU puller from my research. EX actually seems to be somewhat recent of a development but I’m never really surprised when a creditor pulls from a different bureau honestly. It does surprise me that they’re using such an old score model though!

When I did the SP thing on an additional card they used EX and provided VS3.0 and Fico 9.  822/814

Right. New apps have been EX lately but they used to be TU so it doesn’t surprise me that manual review pulled TU.
