Why close the account? There is almost never a reason you should close a credit line. Unless there is an annual fee why close it? If you don’t want to give them business, just sock drawer it and let them close it for inactive after a couple years
Sorry but thats subjective. There can always be a reason to close ones credit line. It can be as simple as a person no longer wants to manage it and simplify their life to having a card that wont grow either organically or through requests. People shouldnt have to keep an account if its causing them stress imho. Just my average penny

Sorry to hear BBVA didn't work out for ya @Jnbmom.
Although myself and plenty others have been pleased with them over the years, sometimes some lenders don't work out or may not end up being the right fit for everyone. At least you gave them a chance👍
Yes i know there are many that are pleased with them. I tried them out and did like the rewards, but lower end limit, no increase and rather subpar customer service, I just had to close. But I am planning to chop a few others as I really need to thin the herd again as I closed a few ,but then got a few whihc kinda defeated my purpose in lesser cards.
If BBVA gave myself or @Jnbmom $15,300 we would love them too
