BBVA prequalified letter

Got one today in mail for the clearpoints. Researched it and sounds like their prequal, while not as good as preapproved, is pretty solid.

App’d, they sent me a code via text which I put in and they said they verified my indentity, long pause and then...denied. Sucky. They pulled my worst score - Experian at 649. No biggy but wasted an inquiry. Wish they wouldn’t market like that.
Current FICO 8s:

Mortgage Ficos: EQ5: 708 - TU4: 729 - EX2: 700
Current Middle Mortgage Score: 708
Goal Scores: 740+

Re: BBVA prequalified letter

Was it a pre-selected invitation?

Keep in mind that all marketing solicitations usually contain clauses which pretty much state that they're not guaranteed offers and subject to credit approval. Potentially, things may have changed with your overall profile from the time the offer was made until you accepted.

It's a bummer, but hopefully the letter will provide some insight as to why it wasn't a solid approval.
