IME, poor quality of received fax is usually caused by the sending fax machine. I don't think this is on BECU, just saying. Still, good luck on your app.

They could very easily offer a secure document upload service where high quality images, far higher quality than a fax will ever be, could be uploaded and processed in minutes. They choose to use this ridiculous process and therefore they deserve to be chastised for it. Everything about their process is a problem of their own creation with simple solutions available.
I totally agree....I asked if I coud send an email with the docs...Her reply was snail mail or fax......forgive I didn't know that fax machines could send color faxes....lol....
BECU is great, but also, their money their rules. It takes about 3 min of searching to learn this is a very strong possibility with out of the state apps.
Mailing all the necessary paperwork (given that one can provide it), is always an option, albeit not the one accompanied by instant gratification.
Not every lender is going to work for everyone, and not every process is going to be smooth for all. That doesnt make them a joke.
Right now, they are being very good to their members, offering every form of assistance available, while working with skeleton crew. It might be a while before your application is reviewed.
Good luck.

Canon Pixma MX922 sends and receives faxes in color... also one of three printers I'm aware of that can print directly on a CD (not that anyone uses those archaic devices anymore...)
Thanks...Yes I may buy one just to be up to date.....I mailed the color copies already...I'll follow up with them next week...I'm aware of the limited staff....Allowing members to upload docs will be much quicker... and I'm sure save them some much needed time.. just my 2 cents....

It would be much quicker. I had a very nice Loan Officer tell me the biggest reason they haven't offered that in the past is because the majority of their members are Boeing employees; and their branches are conveniently located near those facilities and residents of those employees.
As they branch out, they may decide to offer the ability... or they may decide those more than 100 miles from a physical branch are to much hassle... only time will tell.
Britt585,
When I had to go through my ordeal with BECU's verification process, I just mailed the requested info and didn't even both with faxing it. I still wound having to talk to someone in the end, but everything was resolved in the end.
I do have to say that BECU has been very friendly to deal with. I haven't apped for any credit products yet. I'm just taking taking advantage of their great rates.
