Well the whole core logic thing makes complete sense to me now as to why when I first applied for my CC and LOC they were so concerned with my property tax amount haha - I specifically remember them asking that question over the message chat when I applied for my LOC using the same hard pull as my CC from the day before -----thought it was strange no other lender has ever asked me that.

They could very easily offer a secure document upload service where high quality images, far higher quality than a fax will ever be, could be uploaded and processed in minutes. They choose to use this ridiculous process and therefore they deserve to be chastised for it. Everything about their process is a problem of their own creation with simple solutions available.
