OK, so the other day was 91-days since my BOA CLI approval ($500 to $1500).
The "luv" button was there - I read on here to try for the moon and then BOA will negotiate down.
I was initially going to try for $5K, but I "went for the moon" and asked for $10K and I got the "7-10" day message which to me reads denied, no negotiation at all.
A friend on here said wait until the next morning if the luv button is gone, that is good, I have a chance, if it's still there, that's bad, and yeah, it will prob be a denial. It's stil there after a few days, so it's probably a denial.
While I wait for the reasons, now what? Does that link stay on there all the time? Is it worth even a recon once I find out the reasons why for a denial - is BOA known for a good recon success rate?
Sticking with the idea that it IS a denial, for whatever reason they give - do I now wait *another* 91-days since I requested to try again, no matter how long that luv button link stays there? Why is the luv button not going away?
what is your spend like with bofa?
what is your income?
what relationship do you have with bofa?
only thing now would be to put some spend through it or otherwise demonstrate a relationship with bofa.
according to your signature, with ~22 revolvers at ~$185000 in available credit one might guess you are "okay" relative to your spend and income.
I think I went from 3000>6000>12000>20000>30000 with bofa in about 18 months. at that point they denied me basically saying my limit is well beyond what I spend on it. at the time it was my daily driver AND bofa has been my main bank account receiving direct deposits since 1994. the request increase button has remained available on my account for 9+ months since that denial.
9/2022 $30000 | 8/2020 $20000 | 12/2018 $30000 | 8/2016 $30000 | 3/2016 $21000 | 5/2014 $20000 | 10/2007 $8900 |
If nothing has happened by now (I found your post which shows you made the request around 1/13), it's probably a denial.
You could try calling recon, both to see if they'll reconsider or to find out why you were denied. I don't think a denial resets the clock, so you could try again in a few weeks. Depending on your profile, they might want you to wait longer. I'd give it a month, try again mid February.
Since you have a bunch of other cards with higher limits, why did BoA start you at $500? How long ago did you open the card, and what were your scores like then? How many inquiries and new accounts do you have now?
Also, are your reports frozen? This may result in a CLI denial even though it's a soft pull.

(Not sure why. At the time I was DENIED an unsecured card, so they countered with this SECURED card. I was applying for a lot back then, so just to get something (SECURED) instead of nothing I was happy.)
How long ago did you open the card (This was back in April 2020)
and what were your scores like then (EX F08 was 740s at the time)?
How many inquiries and new accounts do you have now? (Since that app, 7 new accounts (4 of which were pre-approved) and 6 INQs, none on EX)
Also, are your reports frozen? (Nope, never) This may result in a CLI denial even though it's a soft pull.
Since April 2020, that card graduated (October 2020) and they sent me a snail mail last month (December 2020) that the card is now *upgraded* to a VISA Signature card.
