Re: BOA Recon Failure

I would to the secured card...mine started that way in 2013, and now it's sitting at $11,400 and it's actually helped fund other cards that I have with them and they have always granted increases on this card when I've requested it after fudning other cards.  I have $26,400 in limits with them, when I use to only have $500 in 2013! Good to know it's not another hard pull, I think I'll send in the app this week......Do you know if the sign up bonus applies to the secured rewards card as well or is that only the un-secured rewards card?

Re: BOA Recon Failure

I started with secured card 3 years ago and best decision ever. Had horrible credit at the time and that was my only card. Now I have too many cards (23) with total limit of over 100k. My Boa is highest at 16k which started at $1500 secured so it works.

Re: BOA Recon Failure

OP I would go with it. Looking at your profile, You have some low CL. If you were approved, I doubt you would have gotten over 5k SL. I didn't get the securre, but last year, I got the Cash Rewards with a SL of 3K and I had a few card over 15K. It was low but, i read on here hoow quick it grows if you a re good with them. Fast forward a year, I am now at 52.7K with them and this is my highest limit credit card. My last CLI a monthe ago was for 20k. App for it, let it graduate, you will be happy you did. Good Luck!

I see this is an older thread.  But it is interesting ... I was hoping CardsFan came back and gave us an update on his/her results.  I too applied for the BoA Rewards Card thinking I had a good chance cause once upon a time I had a banking relationship with them... but when they moved out of the area they entailed me upon another local bank that was just moving in... I had been banking with them for 6 years give or take.  My scores were decent and only 1 baddie no bankruptcies..   They offered me the $99/$500 I was not going to take it .. but I did!  That was in mid-may.   I have no clue if the secured does the $100 sign on bonus or not.  I was hoping someone can enlighten us.   I have the sinking feeling the answer is no....

I am hoping for a graduation I am not even at 3 months yet.... there is nothing on my page calculating a $500 spend.

Anyway I guess that is the only down side of the secured and the low limit.  Or maybe they offer the bonus when they graduate you?

Any enlightenment would be appreciated.

Re: BOA Recon Failure

Its all good.  Older Threads are still in play!  Maybe like Baller said they will come back and enlighten us with any updates.

I am interested as well.  I think by the time I got my BoA it was the beginning of June!  So I still have a little time to find out.

I love the card, their app and website...  But the $500 limit is very limiting ..

But I know in time it will grow .. I just hope that it grows YUGE!

I am patting myself on my own back for working so hard on my credit. .. obstacles and all!

I just wish I started this earlier .. but I am glad I finally woke up.

I will come back to this post with any new updates in terms of BoA...

My lowest and littlest card in my lot... it is sad, lonely and small!

Bwahhhh !

It will grow like wildfire. I would suggest charging and pif monthly for the next 3 months. The analyst told me they love seeing that on their accounts. If you are willing to take the TU inq to unsecure early, you can give it a go at 6 months. Which is when mines unsecured with a hp. Or you can wait and let it unsecure on its own(usually at the 10-12 month mark). Mines was $300 and I got them to match my NFCU $10k limit(at the time) when I got it unsecured. BOA has been very good to me. It's now $20k.
