I guess I'll chime in on this old thread as well I had a co worker apply for a secured card with BofA (not this particular product) and they kept the secured card for 12 months with a $1,500 limit. Requested unsecured status after 12 months and approved with a cli to 5k. Three months after that, I had them apply for the Alaska Airlines card and received a whopping 15 starting limit. Even I was impressed with that since I never got a starting limit from BofA that high. BofA is great with cli's IMO.

Does the Alaska Airlines tap into your max exposure with BoA? I am over 50K with BoA and feel like I am getting close to the max exposure with them. I really don't feel like apping and have to transfer CL to open it.

It would include max exposure but the max exposure will be different for each customer. I'm currently at approximately 77k with BofA between 2 cards. I'm not apping for any new cards with them, just cli's from now on. I don't think I'll get past 100k with them. Even that makes me a little nervous.

Yeah I thought it would. Not gonna app for that. I have 52.7k with cash rewards and just opened a PGA Mastercard with them for a SL of 1.2K lol I will CLI on that and try to get it to 20K in the next year.

With BofA, that's entirely possible. They have emerged as the highest single limit card I have (55.5k). Even topping Amex charge card spending ability.

I am interested as well. I think by the time I got my BoA it was the beginning of June! So I still have a little time to find out.
I love the card, their app and website... But the $500 limit is very limiting ..
But I know in time it will grow .. I just hope that it grows YUGE!
I am patting myself on my own back for working so hard on my credit. .. obstacles and all!
I just wish I started this earlier .. but I am glad I finally woke up.
I will come back to this post with any new updates in terms of BoA...
My lowest and littlest card in my lot... it is sad, lonely and small!
Bwahhhh !
It will grow like wildfire. I would suggest charging and pif monthly for the next 3 months. The analyst told me they love seeing that on their accounts. If you are willing to take the TU inq to unsecure early, you can give it a go at 6 months. Which is when mines unsecured with a hp. Or you can wait and let it unsecure on its own(usually at the 10-12 month mark). Mines was $300 and I got them to match my NFCU $10k limit(at the time) when I got it unsecured. BOA has been very good to me. It's now $20k.
It looks like by the time they processed my paperwork for the secured card it was effective June 6th. So I am only at 2 months now.
That is great to know that they do a TransUnion Pull to unsecure early.. that would put me around Dec 6th give or take. So far I have been doing a PIF for July and will do again coming up on August 25th. I am not sure if I am going I will ask for an early release or if I will wait.
Question did you ask for the amount of the increase ? Or did they just look at your NFCU limit and they did it on their own?
Do fill us in on that data point.

Agreed. That is my highest too. It was a 3K card a year ago. Granted, I transferred my 10k from Fidelity before the Elan take over. But approx 40K in CLI in a year on a card is awesome. I put a lot through it and never really carry a balance.

Awww you got out before the takeover by Elan like I did. There was no way I was going over to US Bank who doesn't like my profile with their $6,500 in credit that they won't budge on. I had to secure (at the time) my 35k. That 35k has since grown to $55,500 this year.

One of the joys of BofA cli's (IMO) is that they don't look at the whole TU picture. It would appear that the FICO score/model plays a more important role (on auto review) than the TU report itself. I have 88 TU inq's which FICO doesn't take into account because of age I suppose which helps with auto review with BofA on cli. Doesn't work the same on new applications apparently.

Agreed. I left 500 on the card and I think I may close it to be honest. I origionally got the card for the 2% to put towards my kids 529 account. Not a US Bank fan.
