i got the same exact msg when i applied for BBR about a week ago. when i called i was told it's for fraud/security measure. if i were you i'd call. sorry dunno the number exactly as i was transferred 2x before i got the right person. good luck!
edit: i just tried this a few seconds ago ~ dial 877-721-9405 then press '0' it will say "ok, you will be connected to an agent' be nice, polite then say something along the lines of 'i recently applied for a new card and i wanted to see if i could help answer any questions in efforts to facilitate the review process'
I believe that you can also see the status of an application somewhere on their website as well
