As always it can so just depend on which recon person you get and if they are having a bad day or not. When I appd for my BOA card I was countered with a secured offer. I said no way, called the # listed here. The person on the phone was above and beyond nice (no sarcasm) and after about 5 minutes total gave approval for the card I appd for.
Forward to a few weeks ago. I appd for a CLI (TU HP for future notices) and was countered against my request. The counter offer wasn't bad but what the heck, why not call since the HP has already taken place? Wow, the woman I spoke with all but said I was wasting her time. Condescending is putting it nicely. Once that tone was set I just expressed thank you kindly and ended the call.
So in all, it's a coin flip on the personality of the person you get.
Now, gather up your Ron1 and CreditAddict muster and recon again

It's worth another try. In my experience taking full ownership of previous missteps goes a long way with Analysts. It's fairly safe to say they see the positive accts on your CR but it's always the one or two negative things that cause alarm. They don't want to hear about what you've accomplished with other Banks or how big of a limit you have with those Lenders - they want to feel you are 100% committed to their product and nobody else's. Just be prepared to explain how you want BoA to be your go to card and how you will avoid any missteps.

All of that but one more most important thing. BofA as a rule is staffed with super cooperative analysts that really do go out of their way for the most part to meet your expectations.
Now that being said, as in everything, you very well (seems so from your expression) likely got a bad apple with a chip for whatever reason. (It Happens) So what i would do is call again and try get another analyst to examine your concerns and see what results from that one and put the other behind you.
You will NOT likely have another rude experience BUT if your expectations aren't met (AGAIN) then it's definitely something you need to ask them what's expected in order to establish yourself with their company and products and follow thru with that for the future.
Best of luck
Thank you for the encouragment. I'm going back to recon!
There are a few posts in here that are near nonFSR and flaming. Lets all remember to be civil to each other. There are ways to disagree with someone without an accusatory tone. I thank you for your understanding on this.

Thanks for confirming, gdale6. I think OP just misinterpreted my tone of voice, but I forgive them.

Their recon was very rude to me a few months ago when I was trying to recon my application.

Sorry for your experience. I've had nothing but love from BofA.
These rule of the forum are sometimes just obsurd really in my opinion. Do you guys think for one second in the"real" world people would be "friendly and supportive?" If that was the cases there would be peace on earth. I wonder if people come to the internet and think it's some land of the misitcal love where noone is hated on and crap talking is non existent.
OK done with my ranting lol
