Bank of America - Reconsideration Call x 2

Applied last night when offers were displayed after plugging in my information.  I got the 'under review' message.  I called in at 8am this morning when their office opened and spoke to a very snippy and almost downright rude credit analyst.  They pulled TU (I got the alerts from multiple sources) but the analust argued with me to tell me they did not, they pulled Experian. Asked her if I could send the email and screen shots of the TU pull from my phone.  She said no.  She then asked me about additional income (which I have but never include - a TF from my father who has passed away).  That's an additional $60k yearly.  So, she said I was denied for baddies on my credit report.  There are none.  She lied.  She then said she was sending me the secured card information in the mail.  We hung up.  I was ticked as I felt she was grumpy and wasn't *listening* to me.

About an hour later I decided to call back and spoke with a much more cheerful gentleman who looked at the notes of the additional income, actually listened to me plead my case as to how well I've recovered from my financial mistakes of days gone by.  I told him I send the BT information because I wanted to get rid of the Capital One cards that aided in my financial recovery, that I never carry a balance any longer an that I did the BT (one C1 is $700, one is $150) to show I'd use the B of A card responsibly.  I hadn't paid off the C1 cards for the month yet and told him that.

So, he said he'd elevate my request and his recommendation was going to be to approve me for a credit limit of $1,500 to $2,000 SL which would include the small balance transfers.  He said he'd personally call me within 5 days with the decision.  Honestly, I was impressed enough with his listening skills, his review of my CRs and his elevating my reconsideration request that even if I don't get approved I won't be upset.

Crossing my fingers for some good Bank of American luck!!

Good Luck!!!

This is the reason why sometimes it takes two or three calls to get something approved or someone to actually listen...because the first ones are usually grumpy and mad at the world lol.

Thanks.  We'll see.  The first one was grumpy from the word go.  I hope her day gets better.  :-)

Looks like the second analyst wasn't pulling my leg.  The application status has gone from denied back to under review.

And here's another thing.  Last night I did a credit application for Mercedes Benz Finance and this morning received an email that I was approved and a little while ago the finance manager from the dealership called me to see when I was coming in.  I can't be all that bad financially!

OP, welcome to the forums and I hope all works out well for you with BoA.  Don't pay much attention to the rudeness of an analyst.  They are human and have bad days as well...some of them more than other.  You did the next best thing which was called and got someone who would listen to you...and I hope it turns into a positive outcome.

As for the MB auto loan...auto loans in my experience, are so much easier to get than even the smallest of credit cards.  Most I believe is being there is a tangible item attached to the loan and they can scoop that bad boy up if they had to.  With credit, like cash, once it's spent it's spent.  Not very many credit card companies are going to come and knock on your door for the 80" LG television your purchased and didn't pay back.

So with being said, I believe that's why auto loans come so much easier than auto loans.  But again, best of luck to you with BoA.  Please do come back and post your results if you're so inclined to do so.

Thank you.  I've been checking the application status every couple of hours.  Fingers crossed but not TOO hopeful.

Ok, now I'm starting to get antsy.  My application is still in the 'under review' status.  Fingers still crossed for an approval!

I have an alert they pulled TU but the first rude analyst I spoke with said they didn't pull TU, they pulled Experian.  I have no idea on Fico 8 or bankcard.  Didn't realize there is a difference.

Still in review.  I've checked quite a few times today.  Oh well.  The analyst said he'll call me back personally within 5 days for the reconsoderation decision.  My mind makes me think negative thoughts since I'm not hearing anything or seeing any online updates.
