Bank of America Secured CC

On Oct. 2013I got a BoA secured CC when I was first starting my credit history, got it with a $300 deposit. Until last week they approved to unsecure it and raised my limit to $500. The limit is a joke since I just have been approved for a limit almost 10 times greater from AMEX and there's STILL that unsecured card annual fee ($39). Since they recently HP me, is there a way they can consider changing my product to a regular, no annual fee card and increase my CLI  or would that be another HP?

My EX FICO is 734, TU FAKO 730 EQ FAKO 734

Thanks in advanced.

Some people report that they were able to use the same HP for 30 days. You can call and ask to use the same pull if within the 30 days.

Same thing happened to me yesterday.  They attempted to give me a $500 increase to $1,000.  And I said, how about $1,500?  The rep thought about it and said, "Okay I guess?  I said, hey, Amex and Chase just gave me more than that.  And she said okay.  I'd call and recon the credit limit if I were you.

I called and they told me they could not switch my card to the "regular" one without an additional hard pull, but they could revise and grant me a CLI using that same credit report if it's within 30 days. Also they sent a recuest to permanently waive the annual fee for me. I got an increase to $1200.

Re: Bank of America Secured CC

Sometimes the banks don't really care to raise CLs to a comparative amount, even with exemplary behavior. I have an old Cap1 with a $750 limit and they still have yet to give me a credit increase, though I haven't asked for one. I have several cards with over 10k each so you'd think they'd review my credit and keep up with the times, but they don't necessarily. Anyway, since BoA HP'd you, you should be able to use that within 30 days; however, much of the time with a new product, procedure is to do an HP, so you'll need to call CS and speak with a rep.  If you've shown good responsibility, and your report reflects it on your other accounts as well, they should be able to offer you a more competetive product.
