Bank of America Under review?

Is this typically a denial?

They pulled Experian. Which has 9 Inquiries in the last 2 years 3 of which are from December. I applied for the plain Bank Americard because I wanted to do a balance transfer.

After speaking to Elan tonight I found myself irritated and upset with them. Which led me to apply at Bank of America. I wanted to transfer the balance I had transferred over to Elan over to Bank of America so I no longer have to deal with Elan.

haha AJC! I got caught in my feelings. I should have just said you're not going to get the best of my temper Elan then I would have one less inquiry. Its probably a denial at 698 and $7,000 in debt reported I would decline myself.

I have got to get back in the pay the bill before the statement cuts not after because it is screwing with my utility.

You should consider stopping your app search if you can’t wait 30 days to post way lower utilization. If you do get approved your SLs might be lower than if you wait a month with lower utilization!

Lol, i understand. I was on a high at the begining with Boa with my increases. But having wasted my last 3 hps on them and getting squat slowed my Boa train real quick. Im not ever gonna app another card or cli from them cuz if all i can get with my income is a max 10k, no matter how good my credit gets or is, they wont care. Im happy though, its good to find out where you fit in with certain banksSmiley Wink

If you are a big income or big spender ignore me. But why on Earth does anyone need more than $10k credit per card? Lol. So many strive for crazy limits. You can have 5 cards at 10k for 50k and that’s more than enough wiggle room unless you are a big baller celebrity lol. And so many act like the biggest insult to them that ever happened when they ONLY get a 10k limit. How dare a credit card company be so insulting... I just laugh at snowflake mentality... sorry to those I offend. Just calling it like I see it.

Re: Bank of America Under review?

If you want to max out your free grace period float, you want a limit 11X your highest month spend at best and 4X your spend at minimum. $10,000 limits barely covers $900-$2500 of spend in a month.

Maxing our your float earns real money when that payment sits in high yield interest an extra 25 days.

On my monthly spend I’d make an extra $120/year if I had limits to let me float 25 days interest free.

$120/year doesn’t sound like a lot but it adds up super fast with compound interest. Thousands of extra dollars at retirement for free.

In my case, $120/year for the next 25 years would likely be $8000 more in my pocket when I’m 68. Free money.

Honestly, it could go in either direction.  When I applied in December it went into review but required me to contact their security/fraud department.  Have you checked the status online?  If approved, don't expect a huge SL if the approval was borderline.  Hopefully, you'll hear good news.

Finstar: it is still showing as in review when I look.

ABCD: I was not planning to apply for a new card. It was a quick decision on my part.

Ben: I was just hoping for an approval not more than $10,000 I do not know where the assumption that I wanted or expected $10,000+ came from
