I called the other day for an APR reduction and guess what, they gave it to me lol.
I called on my 12th statement asking for an APR reduction, they dropped mine 3 percent (22 to 19). I recently apped and was approved for the Barclay Rewards card as well, and matched the intial CL as the original Apple Visa.
So I called the backdoor and the nice gentleman said it was delcined and as a courtesy no HP was performed. I asked what the reason was and he said it didn't know and I would get the reason in the mail. Oh well at least no HP.

Sorry to hear that. At least there was no HP. You'll have to let us know what the letter says when you get it.

Yeah it's ok though, it may be becuase I had just got the Apple rewards card a few weeks ago. Got away without a HP so that's good.
As CreditCuriosity pointed out, they may offer you a CLI without a HP if you call regular CSR and ask for an APR decrease.
Many people have been getting soft pull APR decreases and CLI's. Check it out.
Hey OP did you ever get the letter? What was the reason for denial?

No I never got the letter in the mail, I'm pretty sure it's because I had just recently applied for the Apple Rewards cards the week before. I guess new applications and CLI request are treated the same way.

Thanks for the update! It's funny how they tell you that you have to wait for the letter to know why you were denied and then they never send one.. the suspense.. lol. You're probably right about the reason though, and sorry to revive an older thread but I was curious.
