Barclay CLI ... Safe to ask?

Hello, my 3rd statement cut was about a week ago. Is it safe to ask for APR reduction and maybe a soft CLI? I PIF before the statement cut and I have $0 balance and my TU FICO score is 702, was 706 when I was approved. I do have a few accounts opened in the last 3 months though Smiley Sad. Is Barclay sensitive to new accounts? Should I ask now or wait another 3 months? Thank you.

If you request a CLI while logged into your account it's a HP. And no, Barclays doesn't like new accounts after their approval. In my experience Barclays is pretty good at auto CLIs on newer accounts. I'd wait at least another 3 months and see if they don't give you an auto CLI.

Thank you for the information. I thought anyone had luck with SP CLI or APR reduction after their 3rd statement cut.

Thank you for the information. I thought anyone had luck with SP CLI or APR reduction after their 3rd statement cut.

- You're welcome. Yeah, there have been several threads about calling in and asking for the retention deepartment and asking for an APR reduction and asking fpr & getting a SP CLI - but not at 3 months. I'd say at least a year for that. I was considering that for my Rewards MC which I've had since April 2012 and hasn't had an auto CLI for a couple of years. But they just gave me an auto CLI of $1k on my NFL card that I opened in May 2015. And that's why I say Barclays is good with auto CLIs on newer accounts - the first couple years of my Rewards MC I got it raised from $1500 SL to $5700, all auto CLIs. And the NFL card I got primary to do a 15 month 0% BT I used to pay off a Prosper loan. I had it up to 65% util and paid it down to 24% with a $1k payment in Dec, and they responded with the auto CLI.
