I am trying to get in with Barclay before I stop applying for cards. I have two cards on my list and am waiting for decisions on both. One is the Barclay Ring. I applied for the Barclay Ring before I did the extensive research here on the forum and think maybe I chose the wrong card to start with at Barclays. I applied for the Ring on the 4th and sent in verifications twice at the request of security and card services and can't get a response or decision. I have called three times and they continue to say they have not received the verification info even though I tracked it so I know both sets have been delivered (doesn't mean they looked at it). I am thinking that maybe I should apply for one of their not so picky products the regular MC and re-apply for Ring a year or two later after all my accounts have aged. They are I read inquiry sensitive so another app would result om 3 inquiries (two Barclays).
What are your thoughts on applying for a regular Barclays MC? The Ring app is still in play I suppose since I have not actually received a denial but I just want to move on at this point. With the high APR maybe they are more lenient on this card and can make a decision quickly although the issue seems to be identity and residence verification which may be an issue with the regular MC as well. I have no problem proving who I am or where I live, I just need them to look at it at some point and make a decision.
Would you apply for the regular MC or just chalk it up to experience and move on? Thanks for your input.

No don't. If they're looking for verification documents that probably means you're going to get accepted for the Ring. Don't do anything to screw it up, because that's their best card.
Ok, thanks for post. I will not do anything, just wait it out.

Wait it out, and give them anything they ask for, even if you've given it to them twice before.
It will be worth the wait.
My favorite card.
