Barclay Mailer

So i just got a Barclay Mailer for a World Rewards Card, I was wondering how accurate are their mailers/pre-approvals? Since i got an offer for a World Rewards Card would my chances for a Sallie Mae card be good instead? Personally im more interested in the SM card.

Re: Barclay Mailer

So now i am thinking about opening up the rewards card because i noticed it does offer 0% interest for 6 mos. including BT. I could do a BT because right now my Elan card does have a balance and the interest is killing me. So i am wondering if this would be a smart idea? I would prefer not to open up a strictly BT only card because i do like rewards. So would this be wise?

Re: Barclay Mailer

barclay rewards wasn't too bad, but it was the apr that sucked, 24.99%. But I wonder with it being world mastercard (not platinum) does that mean apr might be lower?

Slightly lower, they are offering me 22.9% which is still high, but the 0% could save me about $360 in interest in just those 6 mos....Just by BT my elan card balance to a new card.

Also in the event i no longer need this card can i PC it?

that's all depends on which EO you speak with, some will allow it and some won't, but there's always chance for you to apply for another card and move the credit limit.

Ok, ugh im so nervous and not sure what to do....Like currently my util is high but thats because of car repairs and junk....and currently my freedom and Discover have 0% so i moved all the balances that i could to those. Now i just have 1 card thats not 0% and needing a BT....

Re: Barclay Mailer

I believe Sallie Mae has a longer bt offer. Look at their site and pull up the t&c. Then you'd have possibly more useful rewards when the bt is paid off.
I had several Barclay mailers and applied for sm instead. Approved for a tiny limit bit got it re conned x10
