Although I got a very nice polite Rep. I was still denied because I have too many new accounts :-(
I filed BK a year ago...started a rebuild...got decent scores duh of course I have new accounts how else do you rebuild? I'll lay low on obtaining another card. At least I can look forward to the next AR pull with Navy Federal!!!! And I'm hitting the MAx button baby. LOL LOL
Sorry TeeStap ![]()
How many new accounts at 12 or 6mths? Just for DP.
@AllCredit back in November I got 4 new cards...walmart, fingerhut, loft, and oldnavy
Barclay is the toughest to recon... not unless you're new and have no new applications.
I would actually say that Barclay's is fairly good with recon, but the only things that concern them are inquiries and new accounts - generally within the past 6 months. They're willing to overlook some past negatives.
A year old BK and that many new accounts is probably not helping you with Barclay. I got a preapproved mailer about 6 months post discharge for the Rewards Mastercard. At that time the only cards I had were AU accounts.

Again how do you rebuild without obtaining new mixed credit lines? It's kool tho I'll lay low.
I got added as AU to two family members cards with high limits that were opened back in the 80s. That got me a boost to AAoA and low utilization. I had a car loan that I kept through the BK for an installment loan. I opened a secured card with a CU and the Barclays at 6 months post discharge. I used and paid them off each month, leaving only a small balance on the Barclay. At one year post discharge I opened a QS1 and a couple store cards via the SCT. I used them reponsibly and over time was slowly able to add better cards. Next month I'll be 3 years post discharge, I'm back in with Chase with a card I really wanted, a 14k NFCU Cash Rewards an 15k CLOC, and 6 months ago bought a house. My scores are all hovering just under 700. I can't get back in with BOA or AMEX, but for now I'm content with how far I've come and I've plopped myself down in the garden to ride it out for awhile.
This is a tremendous rebuild! You have shown that you can come back from a financial setback with a little dedication and tenacity. Congrats! You'll get that AMEX-just be patient!!!
