Barclay Rewards Recon Denied

So, I applied online for Barclay rewards card and was denied. I saw so much success from others, so I decided to call and try to recon. They listened, congratulated me on paying my Cap 1 cards on time, saying they liked to see that. Then, asked me about 2 charge offs from 2012, wanting to know had they been paid. One has been mailed, the other still outstanding. The rep informed me that they'd like to see both charge offs paid before approving the rewards card and to callback in a couple of months.
This has been my first semi-successful recon...others have just told me if have to reapply.

Happened to me back in 2013, I had a unpaid CO and unpaid collection, they wanted to see both paid.

on my TU I have one First Premier Collection from 2008. it is falling off in 7 days in 16 hours. I really am counting lol.

I got approved yesterday. Try to recon again.

Apart from those baddies, how does is credit profile look like? What are your TU score?

FWIW, you might want to call again and speak to another rep (maybe even try 2-3 times, you'll get someone new each time).

I say that because I was approved about a year ago with an unpaid CO for 19K (auto repo) showing from 2010. I was instantly approved for 1K, and then called to recon the limit. They asked me about it and I explained the family emergency that led to that, and they actually understood - raised it to 3K. Since then I've gotten 1 HP CLI (+2K) and 1 SP CLI (+2.5K).

So, it could certainly be the case that I got absurdly lucky, but might also be the case that you could have the same result if you connect with a couple different reps.
