decided to pull trigger and got declined due to "too many inquiries" They pulled TU Fico 8 757. TU had 13 inquiries and 6 were within last 12 months. Attempted for recon but stated they don't because of the inquiry amount.
Awwww sorry OP to hear that. But, why you applied Barclay Ring in the first place? Just out of curiosity. A lot better cards out there to apply and benefit you more with your score over 750.
The card doesn't make any sense unless you do balance transfers to that card, but even a balance transfer doesn't quite make sense since it has no introductory APR like the other common BT cards do. It does have zero BT fee and the standard APR is relatively low, but with intro APR and a modest BT fee you can potentially save a lot more. The card also has no reward programs so when you have other cards that earn rewards there is no reason to make purchases with this one.
Barclays' primary products are those co-branded rewards cards, but if you don't need them there's not much point getting them.
I just got denied for the Barclays Apple card with the same BS reason!! Rep said "I see that you have 6 recent inquires and that is very concerning to us." I thoughtfully answered, "yes, I'm in the market for a new credit line with particular interest in financing a new Apple computer. I wasn't interested in the offers I was receiving until I found your card with the Apple Rewards which seemed like a perfect fit for me!" Yeah.. No. Zero cares given. But Chase and Amex had no problem approving me in the same day. *smh*
