Barclay blacklist from 2009 Chargeoff

Just tried to recon back door number for a Barclay rewards app and was immediately told because of the charge off, BK or not I would not be eligible for another card from Barclays. Rep confirmed it stays in there account for ALONG time and wouldn't confirm the time frame. Sucks that they blacklist like that and won't even consider an approval.

Re: Barclay blacklist from 2009 Chargeoff

I know we are supposed to be positive and supportive here but is this real (it sucks they blacklist)?  I KNEW I had a long wait until I could get back in with AMEX because I had a C/O with them many years ago, and I didn't think it sucked and I completely understood it.  If someone stiffs you are you going to loan them money again?

That said:  Does anyone know if Barclay's is friendly if he paid his C/O with them?

Edit:  Sorry, yes I have a case of the Mondays.

Haven't really read of this and I have read alot on this forum, typcally you meainly hear about Amex if you pay off you can get back in with them or sometimes even if not (probably depending on amount), but haven't seen any evidence if paying off a Barclay's burn will get you back in with them or not.

Which is why I try to advocate no BK if have majors. The one's I had charged off were not majors (though I didn't do bk at the time). Now that I have majors, time to manage the budget like hawk.

As a person who was recently denied by Barclays due to high utiltization and too many inquiries, no collections however and of course no BK...this quoted sentence just makes me furious!

Re: Barclay blacklist from 2009 Chargeoff

Chp 13. Doesn't the creditor at least get re-paid?  So I can understand why Barclay's might of been willing to forgive on that one.

I can understand the bit of anger at the high utiliz and inquiries getting a denial for barcay's on one of the above posters, but most likely it was utilization over inquiries that sunk you on the approval.  Also depends on what card you were going for as well
