Barclay declined CLI :(

They declined my request, I've been a card member for 3 years and I've been at the same CL for that time. I'm sure it's because I have carried a 90% utilization until this month. I asked yesterday because I was at 200/1300. I can't apply for any other cards because my other cards utilization is high so my only hopen for better appearing overall card utilization is a CLI.
My plan of action was to try to contact the EO for portfolio review. If that doesn't work what plan of action should I do?

Barclay really wants you to carry a very small revolving balance or no balance with good usage. They don't like high balances mainly 50 % or over as I have a RMC and a Ring. They don't like lots of new accounts. Keep ur balance about 20 to 30 % of credit limit and u will see a increase. Similar to discover I think.

Thank you for the insight. I will charge on the card but pay off to keep below 20%. It currently just reported at 27% which was accurate for the date of 12.9.15. Now it's below that since I just charged and paid.

Hey - thanks roughdraff! I was wondering why (after over a year) I had'nt received a cli. My util is 19%, and I have 5 new accounts.  Always afraid of the msg: this might be a HP.  on the Luv. I'll get the util down and water my plants for now and see what happens. Again... Thanks!

This might help you so here it goes. I was denied the Barclay Ring card not too long ago. Immediately I called the back door number for a recon and was approved after 3 back-to-back recon calls! Give it a shot.

I have yet to see a increase from Barclay's.  I have had this account almost a year and there is always some excuse to deny me for a CLI.
