Barclay "denied" then address verification?

I applied for the Apple Visa.. checked the status online the next day and it gave a message along the lines that they could not offer a card at this time.

I got a letter in the mail today to send a utility bill or bank statement for address verification.

Has anyone had this happen before? What was the outcome?

TIA.

I don't want to drag up old news (check my posts regarding Barclay) but I can say this happened to me five or so months ago.  Long story short the app status shows we can't offer you a card.  I got two or three letters at separate times requested DL and UT bill.  I sent it each time.  I also called ever 3 days or so and got switched to security each time who asked ID type questions and said they still don't have the documents I have been sending (I kept confirmation of delivery info on all of the mail I sent them). Fast forward to about 5 weeks later the site still shows we can't offer you a card but the last time I called and spoke to security they informed me that they don't believe they are talking to me as their voice prints from previous conversations don't match and they would not be offering me a card.  At that point it was over for me and Barclay.  I am who I am.

With that said many others have had success with sending in their info and getting an approval.  I hope you will be one of them.  Good things come to those who wait sometimes so don't give up and keep confirmations of what and when you send it.  They say it takes several days to review and input the info in the computer even though it may be somewhere in their office.

Good luck.

Something similiar.  I already had the Barclay Ring, apped for the Arrival+. Got denied, then came the verification letter.  Sent my DL and utility bill registered mail.  They received my info (I tracked the letter), took two weeks to get verified.  Was given an application or case number, called at least four different times, then was asked to resubmit my info!  At which point, I withdrew my application over the phone with them.  Six weeks of b.s., and a hard inquiry for squat.  Two months later, I apped for the NFL card, instant approval.  Endless stories and comments about Barclays, they can be quite frustrating.  On the fip side, however, I'm pleased to report no problems with my two cards.  Get on the phone with them, and good luck!

I just got off the phone with them. They sent me a letter asking for a utility bill and just called me to say they received the utility bill, but that the letter was outdated, and they needed a photocopy of my driver's license and social security card. And after that, it could still be another 2 weeks. I've never had a problem getting credit anywhere else, so this is just ridiculous...
