Barclays Apple Declined!

I'm looking to buy a new MacBook Pro and applied for the card at check out. Instant denial so I called the backdoor number. The analyst told me I was declined because the card I closed in 2006 with a zero balance (three years before I filed BK) was coded as being revoked credit. I was like "**bleep**, I closed that card", "how do you revoke credit on a card that was closed by the consumer and never included in BK?" THEN she told me I was declined because I have too many credit cards. At this point I don't even want the card anymore I just want to know why they have that card coded as a negative against me in their system. Then I asked her how I was instantly approved for US Airways last year and she had no idea. She put me on hold and THEN came back to tell me I was declined because I don't have enough history on the US Airways card. She also told me they never did a hard pull, instead using a soft pull from 12/5/14.

No loss because NFCU got my business today and I got 2x/$1 spent on a new MacBook Pro retina!

She did ask me if I wanted to continue the recon, which I declined. I was just slightly irritated by the initial denial reason. I wanted to get to the bottom of that first. I have the money to pay off NFCU so not getting the card isn't a big deal. The big deal is getting the run around.
