She's going to when she gets back from grocery shopping. She's not very good on the phone and tends to give up too quickly. Almost wish I could take the phone from her and deal with them 😀
Well to be fair they didn't even do a HP, so other than annoyance this hasn't cost her anything. I don't think it follows that they owe her a card (or extra points) for this trouble, because with that logic, anyone who applies for something and has to recon deserves an approval and special treatment, which we all know does not always happen -- some recons are still denials.
What I think they do owe her is a logical explanation, perhaps a HP and manual review of her report, and a decision based on that -- not just a decision based on nothing, which is where they appear to be now. Although like I said, OP's recent approval and connection w/ her as an AU could be a reason.
Now, in order to not sound like I am insensitive, I want to make it clear that I hope the OP gets it fixed and gets it approved, but I don't think the logic of "well since it wasn't instant approved they owe her a card and a bonus!" is really fair. I am on the OP's side however in that this needs to be sorted out, whatever the outcome ends up being.
I think Nixon was being facetious but I agree that they dont owe her a card but I do think they should have to give her a reasonable explanation as to why they won't even process it and why she cant even try again for 30 days. You might be right about the whole AU thing but that's something they should be able to fix and still process her application. Something in their computers picked up a problem but an intelligent analyst should be able to correct it and not spout some bs reason and try to lay the problem on USAir. Heck, you can apply for the card and be approved without even being a member of USAir's mileage program.
I think that it's weird they want to pin it on USAir when clearly, USAir is not issuing the credit.
have her call and give her information and then say I'm going to give the phone to my husband, bf, cat, to talk to you... you have my permission to disclose financial and credit information to them... thank you and you take it over.... put it on speaker phone if they want her to answer more things.

@+1.. @Anonymous, I think you should do as CA suggested. That will be the best way to have the tenacity to deal with them. The recon game is built for people with thick skins
Iv done what CA suggested for a family members card.. Actually BOA sort of tricked me into it, but thats exactly how it went down...
Thats why I prefer dealing with online support if possible.. none of the handing off for authorization stuff...
