After I'm done gardening, I'm thinking of applying for the American Airlines Aviator card with Barclays because of the SUB. Those 50k would really help out for a pair of RT first class tickets to Europe. After that, I really have no use for it because I have a Citibank AAdvantage card. Is it possible to PC that Aviator Card to something more useful such as the Uber Visa?
I never said it equaled 2 RT tickets to Europe. I said it would really help out. I'm currently sitting on 88K from my Citi's SUB last year plus the miles I've racked up on my own.

No, Barclays doesn't PC.

Well, they sort of do, I've done it twice now. You have to app & be approved for the card you want. Then you call the # for Credit Analyst in the Backdoor # sticky and ask them to move the CL from the old card to the new one and then close the old one. You take a HP & new account hit, but then you also get the SUB for the new card.

I don't call that PC'ing. I call that
-forcing you to apply for a new card and
-if your application is granted, allowing you to transfer your credit limit and close the first card

That's PenFed's version of PC'ing as well. ![]()
Barclays has allowed PCs in the past. I'm not sure if I know of all of the PC options that used to be available, but the Rewards MC and no fee Arrival MC were two pretty common cards to PC into (or to downgrade into). I downgraded (PC'd) an Arrival Plus card approximately two years ago.
Now, with that being said, I haven't heard of anyone being able to PC into the Uber Visa and I suspect that they aren't going to be allowing that anytime soon.......if ever. I wanted the card and applied for it directly last November and I've been happy with the card so far.
They will move part of a credit line to open another card but won't PC...
